CHANGES TO CONGU HANDICAP RULES FOR 2011
A Couple of important changes have been made to the CONGU Rules on Handicaps for 2011. Both regarding supplementary scores.
CLAUSE 21 – Supplementary Scores
Clause 21.1 Has been revised to include Category 1 Golfers – Handicap 5 or less
Meaning - Category 1 golfers may now submit supplementary scores.
Clause 21.2 restriction on the submission of supplementary scores if more than 6 qualifying rounds completed during the previous season - has been removed.
Meaning players can submit supplementary cards irrespective of the number of qualifying scores recorded during the previous season.
Additional notes
All Members/players can submit supplementary scores at anytime - under the following rules.
Declaration of intent to record and submit a supplementary score must be made to a playing partner (authorised to act as a marker ) prior to starting the round.
Supplementary scores may be submitted playing from Yellow tees and will be recorded under yellow tee course par and CSS basis
Play must be over the full 18 holes as per the club scorecard and where the course is not reduced in length by more than 100 yards from the normal teeing areas.
Once started the score card must be submitted for recording on the Congu handicap system even if N/R is declared at any stage during the round.
The round must be played under the competition rules of golf (R and A plus local where applicable).
Play under both stroke play or stableford formats is acceptable - however the players gross score for each hole must be recorded.
All cards submitted must be marked –“ supplementary for handicap purposes” and signed
