Will somebody please address the situation of the ball tube and its rules,I know what to do and not to do. I stand in amazement at some of the antics going on, thankfully it is only a few, but the few tend to be regulars, 1 member 3 balls in the tube, swapping balls around,Formula 1 arrival of cars in the carpark for the balls in the tube..so what about this.. a clear bullet point outlay of the rules of the use of the ball tube, A4 size placed next to the ball tube in a protective cover. That should cost around a fiver to cover the cost of paper, printing, and a cover. I'm sure a small unobtrusive housing unit could be made for it be placed in. Therefore if you have an issue with the more should we say assertive type member , you can politelty refer to the rules without anybody getting excited. Any thoughts?

I've watched in amazement for the last 5 years at the antics
If we must use a ball tube it has to be regulated fairly not abused by some like it is now

Kev, I glad you have had the same exploits, it is sometimes farcical, I am quite well known at the club being a member for some 15yrs, not one to get too excited I nearly lost my temper a couple of weeks ago , which was wrong, when it is getting to that point ,I question do I want to continue to be a member. The club should address this situation once and for all, with no disrespect to the committee member, lets get the ball tube rules well and truely sorted. I do not want to belittle myself with ignorant members, I did vote to retain the tube, I think it is a great idea.

Solution: when all players are ready to play they go to the pro shop and collect a numbered ball and place it in the tube, i.e. number 1 is then followed by number 2 (believe it or not),thus the balls in the tube should run consecutively. Result no players jumping out of their cars and marching straight onto the first tee.

Solution: after last nights AGM it appears online booking will solve the problem once and for all.

Is this official or just an idea?
If so how will it affect people starting on the 10th tee?

There is going to be an online booking system but the details are to be ironed out. Workshops with members involvement to customise the system to 'best-fit' the club as I understood it.

The implications that arose from the AGM on this subject appeared to be, the club will be unsustainable in its current form. It was suggested that the annual subscription fee would rise to prohibitive levels further reducing the membership placing even more financial pressure on those that remain. The solution is to encourage better revenue streams by having a top website which will utilise the course to its full occupancy, target possible playing parties, ascertain when the course is not being used and act on it,plus raise advertising revenue. The message i got was' change or die',perhaps we need to keep an open mind on this matter until the full facts are revealed.

Good... if the info is correct from the AGM, it was only a matter of time before it happened.
Concern over your last input Lazza, will they change or are they prepared to change enough?
I personally will struggle to maintain full membership if they raise the fees again

Well rusty i was one of only 4 people at an EGM recently that voted against putting the fees up again, which,is quite alarming. The club is already one of the most expensive in the area and i agree with you at time of wage freezing, redundancy plus a hike in all household bills a year on year fee rise would be the final straw for a large section of the membership. Of course there could be some members who will just go on paying whatever is asked and vote to continue as we are now,if so it will then become a private club for the select few in my opinion.

Unfortunately you could be correct, about the possible route for membership, I,m fortunate enough to have an alternative option open to me if it is continued by the club, for next year's fee's,which I do not want to really take it up, as I have always supported the club, but an increase will give me no other option....and ashamedly have to confess to not going to the meetings......I know... it defeats the object
