Good afternoon
May I clarify some points in the above exchanges.
Notices have been posted around the club house for some time requesting members e mail addresses. The current member database has only about 140 e mail addresses.
The new website is expected to go live on Wednesday 1st Feb when the current site will be removed. Anyone - member or non member can access the website. Only members can access the member site. On 1st Feb those members whose e mail addresses are held on the database will receiving a welcoming e mail which will include that member's unique password. This password is alphanumeric and case sensitive. You can then log in to the member site with your e mail address and password. Once in that site you can access your personal page and change your password to something more memorable.
Those members whose e mail addresses are not held on the database will be unable to access the member site.
So can I ask that any readers of this message send their e mail addresses to Tim Scott and pass the same message around your playing colleagues.
A correction to one posting - the new website is not a bolt on to any proposed on line tee booking system. Quite the reverse.
Regarding workshops the provider (GCN) is currently developing Version 2 of booking system - version 1 is already deployed in some 250 clubs. Version 2 should be available in Feb at which time GCN will attend and present at workshops to demonstrate how the system works and to answer the many questions members are raising - "what if" e.g. - for which we do not have answers. And no decision has been taken about proceeding with an on line booking system.
Trust the above helps. I am now off to join some men in skirts at the club.
Thanks - Brian Cocksedge
